How much milk for a one-year-old?

Mine is still on about 600 ml a day, about 12oz in three bottles - is that too much? She eats really well as well. I know they can't overeat but is there an age where milk starts to mean something besides hunger, eg. comfort, habit? Should I get her to cut down? She was one in July.

do you mean 12oz (which is around 350mls) or do you mean 20oz (which is around 600mls)? From 1 year a minimum of 350mls is recommended but this can be made up of milk in cereal, in foods and other dairy products so doesnt all have to be in drink form. You could try offering one or more feeds from a cup and that would naturally get her to cut her milk intake.

My DD was One in July too.

She has 6oz formula first thing.
A beaker of Cows milk about 1 ish. prob about 5/6 ozs. (sometimes 2 beakers full)
Bedtime bottle- 2ozs formula 6ozs cows milk.

We are slowly introducing cows milk and will soon do the whole bedtime bottle cows milk then start on half and half for the morning too before a full bottle.

She also has yoghurts and milk on cereal.
