Nursery has given dd2 pureed food. Not sure what to think.

DD2 has been not taken a bottle and I have been going at lunchtime to feed her. I also provide either weetabix or rice crispies with breastmilk to get some solids and milk into her. I asked them to provide her with nursery food too but not to puree it and let her eat whatever she will. (She's now 9.5 mos old) Course with BLW she is not eating much yet.

They don't seem keen on giving her the solids I bring in - didn't offer it yesterday but pureed her food instead and said she ate all of it. I am beginning to wonder if they are having ishooz with EBM.

The worry i have is that if she is getting tons of pureed food - yesterday was potatoes caulifower and chicken and poss green else with possibly gravy (?) isn't she in danger of having too much solids in proportion with her milk intake and end up constipated?

yesterday despite the food she still sat on my lap and had both sides to the nursery nurse's surprise. she was surprised that she was 'still hungry'. i mentioned that she may be thirsty as dd doesn't take fluids from a beaker either. the little tinker.

so should i be worried about them bunging her up? should i ask why they have not offered her my food mixed with ebm?

Hi Foxy

I doubt it will constipate her tbh, although her guts may wonder about the sudden influx of food.

Maybe they don't want to blw because of the mess? Also some people just don't 'get' blw.

thanx, I hope you're right. I have spoken this morning to a nursery nurse in her room who wasn't there yesterday and says she thinks I ought to oint it out the the other workers that I don't want her to have purees.

she is older but v pro bf and 'gets' blw though I know her granddaughter was fed purees and ff.

foxy you should def ask them what they are playing at as they are ignoring your requests. I presume you are paying them to care for dd, and as such you and she have rights?? If you have asked them not to puree then they should NOT be doing so. If it was the other way around and you were doing the puree route and they gave her a load of other food you would have every right to be equally as outraged. your child, your choices, your money!!!
