BLW - eating out and salt

I am about to start weaning DD and one of the reasons that BLW appeals is that she can have a little bit of what I am eating when we eat out. My friends who have gone down the puree route say but what about the salt in restaurant food. Does anyone have the answer to this?

I've not particularly worried about it, as their normal diet has not had salt. If they are very small, take your own bits, or feed with salad, bread etc. Make sure she drinks a lot too.

You can always ask for salt not to be added when ordering, like chips

And for sauce and dressing to be on the side.

If you look at most menus you'll find something that you can share.

Also, as long as you're not eating out every day, over the course of a week or so it will balance out. Just be be concious of the salt thing when you're at home for a few days.

As babyOcho says, I ask for no salt and any sauce/dressing on the side. Be careful how much you eat out but IMO a meal now and then won't be harmful to them.

As long as you are not eating three meals a day in a restaurant then I wouldn't worry too much tbh.

I was worried about this - but so little of it actually goes in DD's mouth I usually take some snacks (yoghurt and something from the organix snack range) so I can rely on that to fill her up but she aslo has little a taste of what we're having too.
