Vegetable stock and salt content...

Made a casserole last night which we had, my 12 month DD had it too. Noticed that the stock I used has a high salt content and am now worried about this-have frozen some too and was going to give her some more for lunch.

Should I not give it to her?

I don't know whether it's the 'right' answer, but I would give it to her this once, then use a low/no salt stock cube next time you make the casserole. I bought some 'baby stock cubes' for DD at Boots (baby aisle), but have previously bought Kallo stock cubes from a supermarket/health food shop.

Thanks! Yes I gave it to her-tried to drain some of the stock out and added some milk.

Will try the kallo stock cubes from now on!

Glad she didn't go hungry!!!!

Not sure whether it was clear from my other post, but Kallo do various types of stock cubes, not all low salt. WHen I had the low salt ones, I think the packet was blue.

Otherwise the low salt Marigold Bouillion powder is good.
