Weaning

7mo eating less and less

I've been weaning DD for nearly 2 months (she's 8 months next week) and giving her a variety of food which she used to take quite well. Now for the last 10 days or so she has completely lost interest and eats only one or two mouthfuls of anything, even things that she used to wolf down. Finger food doesn't really work either as she just throws it away. The only thing she's happy to chew is toast. She is still havIng plenty of milk so is this something that we've just got to ride out? She's happy enough in every other way so not ill or obviously teething. I'm not about to force feed her but worry that she should be having more. I keep telling myself about food being fun until they're one and all that!

Repeat ad nauseum....it's just a phase! DS was like this (now 10 mo) and would eat nothing. I worried so much about it then one day he started to eat not just what I gave him, but what I was eating too! Of course he stopped again this week but very obv teething - no two weeks are the same are they?!
I know how hard it is, but just keep giving her her usual food and one day she will pick up again

LOL that's what I thought but she's PFB so it's always nice to hear it from someone else! Thanks

are you sure its not teeth? my lo was like this and i found letting him have his pick of food first (he is a brocoli addict!) and then gently giving him a bit more when he got going seemed to work.

also made sure food was cold as this was better on the gums and reverted back a bit to slightly mashier stuff.

Well, she has two front bottom teeth although I can't see any sign of any others. She has the runniest bottom ever today (sorry TMI!) so maybe they're linked. I won't worry about it though, I'll just plop lots of bits on her tray and let her get on with it.
