Is this ok, with the skin off obviously?

how early?
dnephwe loves cucumbers, with the skin on. its perfect food, because he can hold it, bite it with his gums, and if it is cool, then it is perfect for his teething. and unlike carrots, i dont worry about him choking on it.

I remember giving my dd sticks of cucumber when she was 10 months or so. It's the only time she's ever eaten it.

We left the skin on too - holds it together, otherwise it goes a bit mushy after they gum it to death. Melon (with the rind on) is lovely as well.

ds likes cucumber although its more to chew for fun than actually eat I think. Keep the skin on or he'll struggle to hold it.

dd's almost 6 months and has had so far tiny tastes (self fed) of banana, carrot, broccoli and plum. I'm encouraging her to touch and feel more than anything but some generally reachs her mouth!

I gave dd cucumber from when she was about 8 months, big chunks about 4inches long. She still loves it and will eat a whole one if we let her! We often buy one from the market stall and dd will wander round the market with us chomping on it for ages. (She's 9 now.)

wow jux, mine do that with a box of jaffa cakes. grin

I think dp got ds to eat it in sandwiches, not so much on its own. You can slice sandwiches up very small.

wow! resounding success. twenty minutes spent gumming a stick of cucumber (skin on)
First thing shes actively picked up and shoved in <proud mummy emoticon>
