My DD is 7.5 months old and has been weaning well from 6 months old.

Lately i'm trying to increase her solid feeds to 3 a day, she seems to be getting hungry around 11.00am

6.30am she has a bottle when she wakes
7.00am an Oatabix or a weetabix
10.00am a bottle
11.00am seems to be getting hungry
2.30pm a bottle
3.45-4.00 main meal (spag bol, roast dineer, cod and spinach basically what we eat) and a dessert of fresh fruit.
6.00pm a bottle then bed.

She dosent do bread well, so I cant give her a sandwich, pitta or anything like that so I'm stuck as to what to feed her for lunch.

I've just done her a cheese omlette and she wolfed it down. She likes soft things. I have just checked on the net that this would be fine and it says no eggs before 12 months old, only egg whites [shock)

Shit I havent hurt her have I ?

What do you feed your 7.5 month old for lunch?

I think the eggs thing are only if there are allergies in the family. My DD had eggs early but was sensitive to them (and many other things) so I waited a bit longer. Now seems fine with anything.

What about pasta with some cheese grated on it and chopped up veg or something?

The egss thing is a loada crap, NHS advice is after 6 months if no allergies.

Yes no need to panic. Omelette is good for her. You can basically give her anything you would have for lunch, minus honey or salt. IF you have a history of allergies in your family you might like to be more careful with nuts, eggs, dairy, wheat etc etc but the vast majority of babies can just eat a normal diet. That is better for them than poncing around with egg whites and baby rice. It is great that your DD has taken to eating solids so well, enjoy it

My ds loves omlettes and has been eating eggs since about 8 months, didn't know about they weren't meant to have eggs till they were 1! Oh well, doesn't seem to have done him any harm Think that as long as eggs are cooked thoroughly it is ok.

My dd often had eggs in many forms. Omelette/hard boiled/scrambled/eggy bread etc.

DD liked jacket potatoes, cut into wedges with some cheese melted on them at that age. Sweetcorn on the cob was a firm favourite too, in fact any veggies. She ate what we ate except for honey or strawberries.

Don't panic, the eggs are fine if she's shown no allergicky behaviour.

DS had eggs early, he was fine

other soft stuff: pasta if she'll eat it (spirals seem easiest for small hands to manage), scrambled eggs with extra veg added it, leftovers

anything that isn't too salty is fine . Trying her on lots of different stuff is a good idea - remember the 'food is for fun until they are one' mantra.
