My daughter, aged 13 months, has decided she no longer wants to eat any lumps and throws all finger food I try and give her on the floor. She doesn't even want to try it!! She has been getting 2 big back teeth over the last few weeks. Could this be the reson she no longer wants to chew? Has anyone else had this problem? Right now to get her to eat anything I have to puree the life out of it! Any suggestions welcome pls... I'm worried she will now she wont go back to liking lumps.

At least she is eating pureed stuff, if she's teething then be thankful for little blessings. I have the amazing non eating baby.

[sigh]

i would imagine it is the teeth

My DD has also been doing this lately. I find she will eat crispy crunchy things like rice cakes, water biscuits, bread sticks, etc. So she mostly eats those spread with yogurt or pureed something or the other. Also eats chopped fruit quite happily. And whatever I am eating (so have to be careful!) is fine. But she doesn't like lumpy food any more.

I have heard from friends this is quite a common phase. But that deosn't help you much!

its probably her teeth do her main meals pureed and introduce solid lumpy food in day then you know she is having adequate meals my ds did this when teeth came through and went back to eating solids or lumpy food i just gave them in the day and pureed main meal it is so sore for there gums

put plenty of bonjela before meals takes most of discomfort away and slowly introduce lumpy foods again

Thanks. we seem now not even to really want purees. Still will eat yoghurt and fruit but not much else. Also, seems much happier taking a jar than all the homemade stuff. Starting to ask why I bother!! Just a bit worried that she is losing weight.
