Just wanted to double check that DD's diet is healthy enough. She's been BLWed since 6 months, and eats moderate but not massive amounts.

Today she had:
Breakfast - mini Shredded Wheat with milk, strawberries
Lunch - chicken and sweetcorn pasta with white sauce, mango
Tea - dhal with peas and sweetcorn, grapes
She bfs about 6 times a day and 3-4 times a night.

I know these threads are really boring blush but I just worry a bit that I might not be giving her a balanced enough diet. TIA!

Sounds fine - can I come and eat at your house?

might get a rich nappy tomorrow thou with the fruit combo!

TBH her nappies are pretty bad anyway so I probably won't notice the difference! grin Do you think I'm giving her too much fruit? The HV said she needed 5 portions a day and that was the only way I could think to fit them all in! And also, when do you start snacks? Oh so many questions! blush

lol. no not at all - seems like a good balance- DS always has more fruit than veg tbh. has 3 or one and 2 of the other.

snacks er I think I started them around 7/8 months ish as we were going out to a toddler group. at 10.30 and 3.00 ish. (the later one as mainly we put his dinner back to 5 for we could eat with XH as a family the snacks now he takes or leaves.

snacks for us were a few rasins a rice cake a bread stick etc.

now they're the same or carrott/pepper sticks/little tomatoes - another good way of getting fruit/veg into them if they'll eat it raw like that)

sounds like you've got it about right thou. tbh mostly it's trial and error - example with DS it got to the stage he was snacking at those times, and then not eating his meals so I reduced the snacks - and he was eating his meals again. now he's running more he wants snacks (unfortunately in some respects knows where the salad draw is so goes and helps himself to the tomatoes and strawberry's! lol)

I give her occasional snacks, but usually she wants milk instead! She's just started walking in the last few weeks, so I'll give snacks a go and see what she thinks! Thanks for all your help! smile

just give her milk then - shouldn't rush her really.

I'll try both, I'm sure she won't complain! It's because she nurses to sleep for her naps in the morning and afternoon. I'm sure we'll figure something out!
