IKEA Antilop tray??

We're getting some things together in preparation for introducing DS to solids in a few weeks' time. I want to go with the Antilop, given the rave reviews, the price, and the clean factor! But we're a fair drive from the nearest IKEA (plus DH has obscure adversion to setting foot in an IKEA) so it has to be online order. For some reason, they sell the white chair online but not the tray or cushion.

For you seasoned IKEA-ites - does this mean:

a) They just don't do those add-on items online, for odd reasons of their own.
b) They normally do, but are out of stock and therefore I should keep checking.
c) I might be able to track them down in an actual store, and if so, would they ship them to me if I pay remotely?

Would like the tray initially - probably going to do BLW but would like the option of using a tray (also, dining table usually covered in shite and need his own little table if possible!).

Can't even see a tray on its own going on ebay!

a) - they don't sell 'small' stuff online

they won't ship from store

your best bet IMO is to buy the whole lot on ebay instead (the legs come off the chair so shipping won't be too awful) or use one of the independent Ikea shopping services eg justflatpack, swedensimple etc - find one local to you.

I could send you mine if you like - we have the Antilop as a spare for visitors, and they usually sit to the table anyway, so don't really need it

Aha! Thanks, MrsB, I thought there had to be a reason.

CMOT - are you sure?? I would be very grateful! I am happy to give you the IKEA going rate plus postage. How do I get in touch with you?

No problem at all - I can always pick one up when passing an Ikea when out for work (DH won't go in one either, but I have a customer convenient to the Bristol Ikea). I'll weigh it and let you know how much it'll be.

Your profile doesn't let me CAT you, so could you either turn it on quickly for me to CAT you, or CAT me ?

CMOT - am clueless and don't know what CAT is, but have stuck my email up, spambot-proof I hope, for a few mins! Is this ok? And many, many thanks!

Do you mean on your profile ? I can't see it - you have to make the profile public

If you go to 'My Mumsnet' you can select whether to allow people to contact you through Mumsnet, without them seeing your email address

Blardy hell - Benson, benson, or RAF ? I grew up in Wallingford. Am now scared that a MNetter will turn out to be someone I was at school with.

Am planning on being there the night of August 5th as have some work to do in Oxford the 5th/6th and will work in a parental visit. Would that be soon enough ?

No, you're ok there - we moved to Benson (not the base) 6 years ago from Reading shudder.

August 5th is fine - we'll be there, and LO isn't going to be ready for weaning for another few weeks. I'll go ahead and order the chair from the IKEA website now I know we can get hold of a tray!

I so never wanted to live in Reading, and even now the road system defeats me and wants me to get lost. I'm sure there must be a nice bit somewhere A bit of a change to Benson though !

Hopefully the email will make its way to you soon, and we can organise a time etc

The tray is great even with BLW - you just plonk the food straight on the tray. And, if your lo is like mine, he picks it up and chucks it straight on the floor : Mind you, how you get the bloody tray off is completely beyond me. I yank it and yank it, before swearing at it and then hubby comes to do it for me
