the tommee tippee basic cup is 92p in Tesco at the moment. We have found dd gets on well with them but she does enjoy tipping it up when the spout is up so the water pours out. Have never had leaks with the spout down unlike some other cups.

oh yes, we have the tommy tippee ones, and they are good for taking out and about. BUT when hurled vigorously to the floor, the lid is more likely to come off and flood the kitchen than the pound store ones I have.

I have pinched the empty frootshoot (I know, don't hurl abuse at me, I only every use the empties, I'm too tight to be buying the nasty things) bottles from a friend and use these and haven't had a prob with leaks except when the dcs don't press the lids down properly.

dd has used them from about the time of herr 1st birthday.

how old is your wee one? you should try this. it teaches them to use a normal cup - it works, honest - and you dont have to worry about lids etc.

here

drinkng from cups with spouts etc (esp sports bottles, like the fruitshoots ones ) is bad for their teeth etc apparently

nailpolish, I used to have one of these but lent it to my friend, maybe I can get it back! I also have a similar one I could use. I saw in tesco the other day, I think it was a junior mccare? cup with has a lid but you actually sip from it. May try that one.

Try an anywayup cup! They need quite a lot of sucking as they have a valve on the spout, but no leaking! www.mandyhaberman.com/Anywayup_Cup.php

I love anyway up cups. They really are fantastic. Both of my boys use theirs, they are really sturdy, and ds2 won't go to sleep without on in his arms .

When they outgrow lidded cups, you can just sling the lids and you have good beakers.

anywayupcups leak after a couple of weeks use IME,if they can drink out of them in the first place.

i saw a toddler with one of those cups from tesco but they didnt have any when i looked.

wouldnt those doidy cups require constant supervsion?i cant imagine handing my 2.3 year old or my 11 month old one of them and them actually drinking from it(as opposed to pouring the contents on the floor/highchair/cat).

we have had success with the easyflow tome tipee cups here
I don't have all four!! Again you have to suck quite hard to get the water out. I like the fact you can buy spare spouts

I always end up back with the avent cups - the sportster or whatever nonsense it's called - the tall one. They do leak sometimes, and inexplicably, but nothing like the other brands I have tried. Anything with a soft, clear rubber sucker/straw type thing she bites through within days - it's infuriating.
