Boiled water?

Can I stop boiling water for my 9 month old DD's formula now? I just heated up tap water and put the milk powder in earlier, as I thought oh well WTF. But is it ok generally?

I use a mixture of freashly boiled and cold tap, never had a prob.

mmm not sure - dont think I would do it. With dd1 I used boiled water always when making up formula. dd2 is breastfed with occasional bottle and I always boil the water. I have a friend who still boils her dd's drinking water and she is 22 months - I really dont think theres any need to boil after 1 year.

Don't know about formula 'cause DS is BF, but I have been giving him tap water to drink for a month now, with no ill effects (he is 7mo)

When I've offered her water (from 6 months) I've given it her from the tap. Not that she'll drink it unless she's parched.

So I guess I should have been boiling that...

Anyone know why we have to boil it? As all tap water is treated in this country?

You actually never needed to boil the water (provided you don't have well-water). People will still tell you you need to but you don't. Ask your doctor. I never once did.
