Weaning

6 month old gone off her milk since weaning

I have a 6 month old girl who is currently on 2 “meals” a day, she currently has breakfast and an evening meal.
Recently she seems to just not seem to want her milk, she is now bottle fed (I breastfed her until she reached 4.5 months old).
It’s been a slow build up to get her up to 6-7oz bottles, which she was drinking every 4 hours on the dot before weaning.
We started weaning her at 5.5 months as she was showing all signs of being ready, and our HV recommended doing so.
Anyway, when it is time for her bottle (every 4 hours) she never seems to want it. She will drink about an ounce, and not want anymore. I then give her a little break of about 15 mins, play etc, then offer again (I have to reheat it as she will not drink milk that isn’t warm) and she will drink it. I’m not sure if she’s just not hungry enough since weaning, or if she doesn’t like it when it’s just been made, and prefers when it’s been sitting for a while?
Am I supposed to have dropped one of her bottles?
This seems to happen a lot particularly in the morning, she has a 6/7oz bottle before bed at roughly 7pm. She then wakes at around midnight-1am and I give her a 5oz bottle.
She then doesn’t feed again during the night, so I assume she will he hungry in the morning but she just turns away when I try to give her a bottle.
Does anyone have any advice, or had a similar experience? Frustrating having to constantly give her ‘breaks’ and reheat the milk as it pushes all her feeds later for the rest of the day!
Thank you x

When do you give milk and solids? I use to give milk first then solids an hour or so later e.g.
7,11, 3, 7 for milk
8, 12,5 for meals

Hi, yes I give solids in between milk feeds. E.g. bottle at 7am, then breakfast 8-9am x

Every child is different, but as a rough guideline I think they should be having 20oz until they’re about 9 or 10 months. My little one started dropping milk feeds just before 8 months. Once 3 meals a day had been established, with snacks during the day, he dropped his morning feed and his afternoon 3pm feed. If your Dd is drinking less milk, offer a drink of water with every meal or snack to make sure she stays well hydrated and offer dairy products to help her get enough protein and calcium.

I'd focus on solids now. Mine quickly moved onto three meals a day and two bottles quickly after weaning.

I'd try dropping a bottle. I think the afternoon one was the first to go with mine. Or just space the bottles out to add an extra hour between them.

How much solids are you giving her? They only need to taste at this stage not fill their tummies - so I would start by reducing the solids portions and focussing on milk intake.
