How early can I give cows milk?

My DS2 is almost 11 months and his prescription formula for his reflux is due to run out. So when can I switch to cows milk? He will be 11 months and a few days when it runs out.
I don't want to try normal formula for 1 month before trying cow's milk.
Has anyone else tried cow's milk early? DS2 has a very varied diet so I am aware of his nutritional needs, he is a BLWeaner and happily munches broccoli, spinach, fish etc

I would go for cows milk now. Ds tried it from 9 months with his meals.
He would drink cows milk with meals and formula for his 'feeds'.
I don't know anything about reflux though, so maybe someone else can inform you on that one!

DS2 was on cows milk at about this stage - mostly because he went off his first thing in the morning breastfeed and I couldn't be bothered to buy formula - he had a small cup for breakfast with no problems.

Thanks, he had formula milk that had rice starch in it which thickened on contact with gastric acid so that it would stay down.

He is on his feet most of the day so that has helped him stop sicking up so I don't think he needs it anymore.

He has had cows milk in cooking and had a sneaky drink of his brother's cup so I know he likes the taste!! I will try him on it at the end of the week. Now all I have to do is resist drinking it myself, mmmm creamy full fat milk it's the reason we have semi skimmed because I can have that in tea but can't drink it and I am on a concerted effort to lose the last stone of baby weight

I was just about to ask the same question. Tom was 1 last week and he only has formula when i'm working or we're out. Theres a bit left and didn't really want to buy more when he could have cows milk. He has it with his Weetabix for breakfast anyway. Next thing to do is wean him off 'this cow's milk' .
