Weaning

Right time of day for solids?

My DS is 6 months and a week old.

We started weaning two weeks ago. He is a big boy and generally very hungry. He is waking more and feeding more.

However I don't think weaning is going well. As he is breastfeeding more i never seem to get the right balance of hunger and full before i try feeding him and he is just not interested it gets cross . Any tips?

I will probably also post about sleep because thats not good.

Thanks.

Can you try and feed some fruit/veg/purée an hour or two after his feed? We started with breakfast I think - BF at wake up, porridge or similar a couple of hours later (depending on sleep).

I wouldn’t worry too much as milk will be main source of food for a while yet. Maybe try a little baby led weaning and give him some things to hold or play with rather then actually spoon feed. Can help him to be interested and also take the pressure off feeling like he has to ‘eat’
