Morniiiiiiiing!!!

DS has been weaned since the 6 month mark and now he's 11 months has for some reason, out of the blue, suddenly has an appetite like a horse.

I guess it's just a natural progression but milk just doesn't cut it when it comes to hunger anymore.

Can I ask what a typical day of food might be for your babies of similar age? I want to make sure he gets a balanced and varied diet. He eats his main meals with gusto but he's grazing a lot more inbetween meals and loves the organix range of oat bars and biscuits but I want to limit these and give him a more nutritionally varied range of snacks. I'd love some ideas.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

My daughter is 12 months and has a good appetite-this is what she would typically eat/drink in one day-

AM- wake up- breastfeed
Breakfast- 3/4 weetabix with cows milk then an Ella's kitchen fruit pouch

Mid morning- breastfeed for going down for a nap.

Possibly will also have a morning snack of fruit or cheese biscuits at some point.

Lunch- soup and crackers, or a snack plate with veg sticks, ham, cheese, grapes etc, water.

(I don't tend to give an afternoon snack)

Breastfeed for second nap

Dinner- she will tend to eat whatever we are having- so roast with veg and potatoes, chilli and rice, bolognaise, pasta and spinach sauce, mince and potatoes. - water

I tend to give bigger main meal portions and limit snacks especially in the afternoon. My kids have always eaten really well at dinner as a result,

Currently looking to wean from breastfeeding so will slowly substitute the feeds for cows milk.

Hope that's helpful!

Hace you tried snacks like Scottish oatcakes with cream cheese and cut up grapes, hummus and veg sticks, toast and smooth nut butter, small savoury muffins?

DS was really packing it away until a few weeks ago. Now he's gone all fussy and all the lovely dinners I make are ending up on the floor!

Today he had:

6am - 8oz bottle
In nursery he ate 1/4 banana, baby porridge with cow's milk, a rusk, a plain yoghurt mixed with fruit purée and another 8oz bottle
For dinner he had a very small portion of pasta with butternut squash and cheese, with a slice of garlic bread and for pudding he had a few tablespoons of rice pudding.
He then had another 8oz bottle before bed.

Actually when I write it down it looks like more than I thought Shock

Thank you for your replies. They've given me a few ideas. I didn't think his diet was hugely varied but I'm starting to see it is more varied than I thought. I'll give a few of these things a try. Thank you Grin
