Bottle feeding

My daughter is 3 months old and I am trying to introduce bottle feeding to my daughter in the evening before bed as we are going on holiday in 2 weeks and I would like to be able to feed her a bottle so she isn't completely dependent on me. We tried when she was about a month old when we had to go to a wedding and my parents had to look after her and she was fine but since we have started trying a few nights ago she just refuses to take it. Does anyone have any tips on how to get her to take a bottle as it would make my life slightly easier and less anxious about leaving her with other people.

Are you feeding her formula or expressed breast milk? She might be happier to try the bottle if the taste is familiar - then you can switch once she's accepting it. (If you are trying breast milk, has it been frozen? Apparently some people's doesn't freeze well.)

I was trying formula milk but am now going to try breast milk that has been expressed in the hope she will recognise the taste and take to it then try the formula milk when she is used to it. Thank you for the suggestion

Our DD took a bottle just fine until about 8 weeks. Then we let it lapse for a while and she completely refused. Think hysterical screaming every time she only saw the bottle. We tried lots of different bottles, different times, etc. Nothing worked. We then stopped trying for a few weeks. When I tried again, lo and behold, she drank the whole bottle. Aside from offering the milk really warm we didn't change much, so I think it was just that she'd forgotten she'd hated bottles. Sorry, this might not help you much right now, but waiting a bit might solve the problem on its own. Good luck!

Both of mine were bottle refusers but somethings that keeps popping up in MN are to make sure you have a fast enough flowing teat, make sure the milk is warm enough and dip the teat end in the milk so that she can taste it straightaway.
