Baby led weaning cookbooks

Hi all,

I know this has probably been done so much but I need inspiration and actual recipes in front of me for meals for my son who is now 9 months old.

We started out BLW when he was 6 months but it always panicked me too much and have been giving him purée and the odd bit of toast, veg and little bits he can hold. However now at 9 months he's learned not to take huge bites and stuff everything in his mouth at once so I think we are ready to give BLW another try.

Online doesn't seem to be offering much help and a weaning app on my phone seems a bit pointless as I prefer actual books (I have a few cookbooks already - mainly Mary Berry).

My question is - what BLW cookbook would you recommend?

Preferably I'd like one which covers all 3 meals and maybe some snacks in there too

Thank you for any suggestions

I think if you're doing 'proper' BLW you just give them what you're having - not salt, no sugar, nor masses of spice, but otherwise just whack a bit of whatever the rest of you are eating on the high chair tray.

river cottage baby and toddler cookbook is good. it's basically a family cookbook and explains to do adapt the recipes to make sure they are baby friendly. it's not pure baby led weaning in the sense that in the beginning it talks about the different approaches to weaning but all of the recipes are blw friendly.

I'd also recommend the river cottage baby & toddler cookbook. You can also do your own family favourites, just hold off on the salt and any chilli/heat.

I have the blw app on my phone which gives me good ideas for lunches and snacks (although most of the recipes tend to involve baking). We tend to give what we are eating for breakfast and dinner, just adjusted with no salt and sugar as we find she eats best when eating same food as us

Never cooked anything especially for DD when BLW. Even left the whisky in DD's favourite fruit cake. I did make risotto slightly less runny but otherwise we just have her real food from the word go. Sweetcorn fritters were a particular hit.

I don't use salt in cooking anyway.

I like the Gill Rapley BLW cookbook as a cookbook for easy, go to family meals. I keep meaning to buy the River Cottage one as well because it's always recommended.

Thank you everybody. I found a couple of recipes online so I baked him cauliflower tots and oat muffins. However he won't touch them... which is highly frustrating! He eats toast, chips, tried bits of veg etc. But won't put the things I so loving baked in his mouth Sad. Perseverance though I guess, he's only had the odd bits of finger food here and there and been having purée meals
