Weaning

Is it ok to let my nearly 4 month old try fruit.

My girl is 4 months next week. I don't won't to ween her until she's 6 months and my partner knows that. But he keeps letting her test whatever's he's eating so far he's let her lick apple juice and pineapple. Today I told him off for giving her Fanta. She seams to be loving it and I'm wondering should I jest let them be as they are having fun together?

Fanta?

Seriously?

Id be fucking livid.

He has decades ahead of planning prepping and clearing away three meals a day. Why the rush?!

Fanta?! I wouldn't give my nearly 4 year old Fanta, it's practically pure sugar.
I personally wouldn't give my less than 4 month old child fruit, no. Fanta isn't fruit.

Definitely not Fanta! So wrong.

Her body isn't ready. Wait until she's 6 months.

No. It's not ok.

I won't even comment on the ridiculousness of giving a 3 month old Fanta.

Fanta is not fruit.

What next a happy meal?

Just give her some turkey twizzlers and be done with it.

The only thing a child that young should be ingesting is breastmilk. Or formula. As you well know.

No! Fanta is just ridiculous! A lick of an Apple prob won't hurt but not fruit juice either. Speak to your hv and educate yourself and your partner for the sake of your child.

To be fair it was jest a drop I know Fanta is not fruit. I know it's bad I wouldn't have let her if I was there. I jest wanted to know if anyone els let there children try to taste fruit this early. I know a lot of people ween this early but I don't won't to do that jest yet. She's happy with her milk.

Weaning early can cause major intolerances and digestion issues later in life. And getting a taste for sweet drinks and fruit before tasting veggies etc may make weaning tougher than it needs to be.

Are you autocorrecting to 'ween'? Because that's a band I haven't heard of in a long time.

This has to be a windup. Nobody could be that damn stupid. Ffs x 10, utterly ridiculous.

How old is her dad? Even a 12yr old wouldn't give a baby fanta.

Of course not. Everyone knows it has to be blue pop or Mountain Dew.

Try brandy, OP. If you really don't give a fuck.

If you know that you should not wean until 6 months, what do you think giving fruit is? Obviously giving any food is weaning.

Fanta is sugar, carbon and a shit loads of colourings and flavourings. It is not good for anybody end especially not for a baby.

How did you find out he gave her Fanta? Did he tell you? I think you should get the public health nurse to give you the booklet about babies so he can read it.
She is only 3 months old.

Trying fruit is weaning.

If you aren't a troll, and I really hope you are, NO it is not ok. Buy a baby book. Or just use some common sense. You can't give a baby Fanta.
