How much to feed 7m old

DS is 7 months and loves weaning - we haven't found anything he won't eat yet. In fact, he just wants to keep eating and gets very upset when the meal is finished.

So my question is, how much do you feed a 7m old in a single meal? HV suggested a portion should be the size of his fist but that seems tiny and in which case I have been seriously overfeeding

I just give my daughter a small plate. She loves food too, but gets lots on the floor etc.

She's 9m now and isn't really overweight, she's chunky like all babies but not fat at all. My son (who actually was a struggle weaning) was loads fatter. So I don't think I'm overfeeding

Hi OP, my baby is just coming up 7m, she has:
7am 4-5oz formula
7:20 1tbsp baby porridge made with 1oz formula mixed with half a baby breakfast pouch
11:30 2tsp baby rice made with 1oz formula mixed with a jar/pouch puree
2:30 4oz formula
5pm 5tbsp heinz baby dinner made with 2oz formula and 3tbsp water
6:30 3-4oz formula then bed.
Hope that helps. She generally takes it all but occasionally has instancyof leaving a bit if not that hungry, she's also offered water and banana baby wafers

Don't worry about overfeeding. As soon as baby gets cold or teething.... they stop eating .

My daughter is 21 months and at first loved everything, now she is so fussy and under a dietician as she is 10.2kg at 21 months . She won't eat anything and has fat supplements added.

I gave a portion of a small weaning tub from Asda and then something sweet after.
My DD loves her food too so i know the feeling. We just have to avoid her seeing any food in between meal times.

If giving a sandwich then I now give DD half a whole meal thin sandwich thing followed by a cracker or 2 or a banana

Thanks everyone, that's really helpful. I feel like maybe we haven't been giving him enough Blush

@ineedwine99 do you give a whole jar or pouch?

@Foreverhopeful22 that sounds awful - hope your DD is doing ok

Yep a whole one, she started weaning at 5 and half months as was dropping a lot of milk from feeds, started on half a jar then upped it just past 6 months, she loves solids, still iffy with milk
