Do is 6 months old, and just starting his weaning journey. Was going really well, until he got sick a few days ago, so I'm going to start again when he is better.
I thought it might be useful to chat with other parents at the same stage to get ideas and support. Feel free to join in!

Do was having (before he was sick)

7am 6-8oz bottle
8am-porridge
11am 6-8oz bottle
12-lunch puree
4pm-6-8oz bottle
5pm-puree and some finger food
7pm-6-8 Oz bottle

I've made and frozen ready to cook pizza pin wheels (puff pastry with tomato and cheese rolled up and sliced) Can be cooked from Frozen in 20 minutes, and hoping it will be a good finger food for him.

Oh wow thats amazing! My DS is almost seven months and I can't get him interested in food. I got him to eat four spoonfuls of porridge and a quarter of a biscuit yesterday and that's the most he's been interested.
Any tips for getting him enthusiastic about food are most welcome

Hi bee
Sounds like he did well yesterday!
I'd just keep offering. My HV also said to put different foods onto his tray (me beside him obviously! Grin ) and just let him play.
I found these wafers really good as well, as they dissolve on ds's to understand, so he can feed himself, and get used to different tastes.

Yes, love this thread!! My little boy is 6 months old and this weaning stage is driving me bonkers 😂😂

Anyone else found their baby doesn't poo as much and has gone off their bottles?

In regards to foods, I mashed up a sweet potato and mixed in a good 4oz of formula to make it smooth textured and he seemed to really like it. Although it tastes sweet it's still quite healthy and seems to fill him up. I personally found he wouldn't sleep after eating a fruit pouch or anything with loads of sugar in so I've tried to cook my own the last few days

I'm struggling to get my 6.5 month little boy to eat savoury foods now. When I started weaning him a month ago he would eat a whole pouch of something like chicken and veg casserole or wolf down sweet potato puree but then got a gastro bug and now won't touch savoury at all. I'm doing a mixture of BLW and purees etc so we're fine with cucumber but thats it.
He generally has porridge once a day and then a bit of puree (whatever I can get him to eat) and then some finger foods. Any tips on the savoury front?

I've been very slowly half-arsedly starting to wean. Mostly purée pouches but some baby rice, mashed sweet potato and carrot, baby porridge too. I've had to take it really slowly as she often gets stomach ache. I've tried mixing purée with breastmilk to "dilute it" but she's not keen. I think she's perplexed at tasting breastmilk in the wrong context.

I was trying to think of what to give her for some finger food, those wafers look perfect.
