DD, almost 1, is breastfed. Started on solids at 6 months, although she was (is) totally spoon-phobic, so we did BLW. She didn't eat a thing until about 8 months, but now she's pretty good and eats fairly well.
I'm just short of ideas of what to give her! I don't think she's developmentally ready to feed herself with a spoon, and pre-loaded spoons have ended up flung across the room and have ruined my carpet, so I need to give her things that she can feed herself. She doesn't seem to want to touch 'saucy' things. I've read a few baby cook books (Ella's Kitchen etc) but I don't really have the time, money or inclination to make things that involve trips to several organic wholefood shops, which all these recipes seem to. She eats loads of fruit and veg, and doesn't yet know that cake or chocolate is a thing. I generally give her what I'm having, except for tea as DH gets home late so we don't eat until she's in bed. She's not having egg as she got a bit of a rash after her first try (although egg cooked into things seems fine).
Her diet consists generally of:
Breakfast: crumpet or toast or bagel with cream cheese, fruit
Lunch: sandwich, eg chicken and avocado, fish finger, cheese, tuna; a savoury muffin, eg carrot and courgette; fruit
Tea: a bit of chicken or fish or some kidney/lima beans; veg, roasted or boiled; pasta; fruit
Snacks: fruit or organix crisps/oaty bars
I feel like all I give her is bloody fish fingers sometimes (she loves them), while my friend's babies eat Moroccan spiced lamb and salmon risotto I have made her savoury muffins, spinach and broccoli bites and other easy bits like that, which she likes, but am by no means a great baker. Due to finances and time we meal plan quite strictly, can't afford to make extravagant things she will chuck onto the floor, but any ideas for quick, healthy(ish), inexpensive means would be much appreciated!
