She's trying to snatch my food, makes cute chewing motions and feeding very frequently. Should I offer her some food and see what happens or should I wait the 2 weeks? I'm keen to get her started as I think she'll enjoying gumming stuff that has some taste.

I dont think it makes much difference to be honest, whats in 2 weeks?-really up to you, she will prbably play more than actually eat in the beginning anyway

i weaned my dd at 20 weeks as she was a hungry animal! !!

I also agree that 2 weeks won't make much difference. I weaned my ds at 5.5 mths when he suddenly became ravenous - cluster feeding all day, waking in the night and had fallen to the 9th centile. In fact we were on the verge of being referred to the GP. It took a month before he was eating properly. Now he's doing really well, putting weight on, and still having 4 b/fs per day. So we're both happy

2w wont make any diff, sounds like shes ready tbh

I didn't - i waited till she was properly 6 months

then you can give all types of food without stressing and it is easier in the long run

If she is picking up food & putting in in her mouth, chewing etc as well as being able to sit unaided then chances are she is ready....but you might want to read this about why to delay solids to help you make your mind up.

Forgot to mention that I managed to put DS off starting solids for a while by giving him a spoon and bowl to play with when I ate - worked really well - I think it was that he just wanted to join in with mealtimes rather than a need for more nutriton/calories etc.

but what difference can 2w make? before a baby is born 2w either way is perfectly ok, a 2w early baby is fine, so is a 2w late baby.

Thanks everyone. I'm going to give her some finger foods and see what happens. Tried baby rice this morning and she spat it back out at me!!

Did both of mine at 16 weeks - loved food right from the start. Would do the same with any future children too. Only fruit and veg until 6 months.
