Introducing Whole Milk before 12 months...

ok, not entirely sure if I am posting this in the right place but I am after some advice.
My son is 10.5 months old and since 9 months he has been formula fed along with the usual weaning on to food.
He drinks a lot of milk and I am now spending a small fortune on formula.
My friend introduced cows milk to her previously breastfed child at around 11 months.
I am just wondering if anyone has ever introduced cows milk (whole of course) before the 12 month NHS guideline? If anyone has - did you think your DC was ok with it?

I should also say he was a large baby (9 pounds eeek) and has always been fairly big for his age. with my youngest Son I was very 'by the book' and waiting literally until he was 12 months and then gave him cows milk... this time I think the amount of money I am spending on formula is getting to me more!

It's only 6 weeks more of buying formula. Could you swap to a cheaper brand maybe?

I give whole cows milk in the daytime and add vitamin drops to it. Started at 9months. Contrary to guidelines.

Well they are supposed to have 600ml a day until a year.which is three 200ml bottles roughly. So I would say if he's having more than that then any additional bottles can be cows milk, but water and more food would be better now after 600ml as you want to gradually be dropping the amount after a year anyway

My dd was on cows milk only at 10 months. I didn't save much cash though, the amount of milk she gets through is incredible!

I'm convinced a tub of formula powder lasted me about 10 daya which was about £6.50. (Hipp organic 2 on offer 2 for £13).
I now buy about 3 x 4 pints of milk a week instead!

Did your friend who put their baby on cow's milk do it as the main feed or did she continue to be as well? Just asking cos both of mine had cow's milk from 10 months but only one or two drinks a week.

Like others have said, it's only 6 weeks.
