Weaning meal times??

I started weaning 7 month old DS about 5 weeks ago and was going well. In the last few days he is reducing milk himself and prefers solids to milk. So frustrating! So HV advised go to 3 meals a day if thats what he wants and keep his morning and bedtime feed and that should be ok.
So Im confused about timings as i dont want to put him off his last feed. He usually has milk feeds at 7am, 10am, 1pm, 4pm and 7ishpm. Im thinking:
6.30 - milk
8.30/9 - breakfast
12.30/1pm- lunch
4/5pm - dinner
7ish - bedtime milk

Is it too early for dinner?
What do you ladies do?
Any advice appreciated!!! TIA x

I'm currently doing:

7am Milk
9am Breakfast
11am Milk
1pm Lunch
3.30pm Milk
6pm Dinner
7.30pm Milk
8pm Bed

DS is also 7m and we've been weaning since he was 23 weeks old. I express and he also has formula so I can see his milk intake. It's dropped from c.900mls a day to c.700mls a day so far, sometimes more or less.

Hope this helps!

Handbagfan what time naps does your baby have? My DS (7 months) has similar feed times to you but I'm stuffling with nap times at the moment. Thanks

Both of mine naturally fell into the following routine (as did most of my friends' babies):

7am milk feed
8am breakfast
11am milk
12 noon lunch
3pm milk
4.30-5pm tea
7pm milk

The morning and evening milk feeds were the biggest, the others smaller, and then turned into a drink and a snack.

Naps were 10am to 11am, which dropped quite quickly, then a main nap between 12.30pm and 2pm.

The routine my 7mo follows is
6am 7oz bottle
7am porridge/cereal
10 yogurt snack
12 lunch
1 bottle
5 dinner
6 bottle.

Bottles are all 7oz and depends on her form as to whether they are all finished or not. I introduced the regular snack in the morning because it seemed an awful long stretch from 7 -12! The mid morning bottle was dropped because she didn't really want it anymore

2 milk feeds is not enough at 7 months as they need at least 20oz per day up to 1 year. At that age I did milk at 7, 11, 3 and 7 and food at 8, 12 and 5. It doesn't matter if the daytime bottles have less in them than the am and pm ones

Mummyfry4316 - Sorry, this thread had fallen off my list! Nap times...

Usually we go back to bed after the first bottle and he sleeps / lays next to me til just before mine.

I then Encourage a nap around midday (usually on me).

Finally a nap after the 3.30 bottle - upstairs on our bed, ideally with me having a nap too!

Doesn't always work like that especially if we're out and about, but this is the dream if we're at home for the day.
