Mine aren't toddlers any more, but they eat the same now at 5 as they did at 1 year

Breakfasts: omelettes, scrambled egg, poached eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach, beans. Porridge with nuts, seeds or fruit. Greek yogurt and fruit.

Lunches: often leftovers or part from night before dinner. Otherwise some homemade soup, eggs if they didn't have for breakfast, black bean quesadillas, some fish and rice, vegetables and fruit.

They don't really eat bread or pasta

Today they ate:
Breakfast : 1 poached egg, with beans and mushrooms. Small bowl Greek yogurt with 1/2 banana each.

Lunch: spicy butternut squash, chickpea and coconut chunky soup/ casserole. A pear

Will have fish with a creme fraiche sauce, rice, courgettes and peas tonight.

Wow all sounds great! She does eat really well but as I say she eats a lot of what I do which usually involves pasta based meals which I find boring so she must do I just want to change It up for her as she loves most things I might aswell take advantage of it! Thanks x

Breakfasts here aren't too varied - porridge, shreddies, French toast, pancakes.
Lunch - have a lot of home made quiche, sandwiches, baked potato & filling, cheese/beans on toast, tuna pasta or those fresh tortellini pastas with veg added.
Dinners - hmm... Whatever we're having! Sausages, lasagne, stuffed peppers with cous cous, more quiche, pasta bake, moussaka, kedgeree, sweet and sour chicken, curry, chicken tray bake, baffled salmon with lemon, veg and potatoes, veggie chilli, chicken fajitas. I go through my cook books every so often for inspiration.

Some great ideas above!

I have a three year old and 7 month old. (The 7 month old doesn't have all of the below just yet!)

Breakfast we have in rotation!

  • porridge with all sorts of toppings (banana and sultana with cinnamon and peach with raisins and cinnamon are our favourites! Also banana and Nutella for a treat)
  • weetabix, shreddies,
  • pancakes on the weekend!

Lunch
My little one isn't really a fan of sandwiches so end up cooking most days!
  • jacket potatoes with various toppings including prawns (my toddlers favourite food currently!), tuna, beans, cheese, chilli (if any leftover from night before.
  • eggs lots of ways as mentioned in other posts! We really like baked eggy cups. Which are eggs and fillings put in silicone cupcakes and popped in the oven for 20mins. Could also be worth trying putting scrambled egg with smoked salmon and spinach. Strong flavours but a big hit here.
  • mini pizzas using pitta\bread - pineapple, peppers, and any Italian or Spanish cold meats are our go to!
  • soup
  • tuna melts (mix tuna, cheese, Mayo, sundried tomatoes, spring onion and sweetcorn on top of a pitta or piece of bread)
  • pasta with sauces. I keep a stash of Jamie Oliver's "full of veg" sauce in the freezer)
