DD (7mo) is BF and was an infrequent pooer (7-10 days at a time between poos). I started weaning at 5.5 months at which point her poo turned to little hard pellets with lots of straining (for hours - it was horrible) and obvious discomfort.
I changed what I was feeding her and the poos have got slightly easier, still accompanied by a lot of straining but she's going approx every 3 days and they are a bit less hard (still not great but no longer like rabbit droppings).
But I'm now feeding the same stuff over and over again and need to broaden it.
I give her both purée and finger food. I'd especially like to increase the finger food and veg rather than cooked puréed fruit but any suggestions of food that won't bung her up appreciated.
At the moment she gets
Pureed prunes/apricots/peas
Fingers of overcooked asparagus/broccoli
Berries (she loves strawberries)
Occasional spinach/kale blended with a bit of milk and potato (she doesn't like it without the potato so I avoid giving her much of this).
A bit of weetabix with milk.
Occasional lentils (not quite sure if these help her poo or not!)
I avoid bread/rice/porridge/fish/meat/cheese/egg and have now also cut out bananas, apples and carrots.
Thanks
