How much milk do you give an 18 month old?

I still give 3 drinks each day of about 200ml milk, and water with every meal.

DC drinks a tiny bit of water with food and wolfs down all of the milk between meals. I can't remember when you're supposed to drop milk feeds and feel that he won't drink enough water to stop himself getting dehydrated.

they only need around 300/350mls of milk from age 1.

Also they can get dairy from their meals, if he is eating wetland a mixed diet I'd drop a milk.

Mine has a 150 cup first and last thing in the day.

Mine just had a breastfeed in evening at that age. They had lots of water to drink throughout the day

Just an evening milk feed for us too plus dairy in the day. It's probably a bit chicken and egg with the water - while he's drinking lots of milk, he is probably getting enough fluid from that and isn't thirsty for water. Less milk and he may well be more interested in water.

Thanks for your replies! Looks like a serious cut down is in order.

Well my 14 mo still drinks 3 full cups a day, probably about 600ml in total. first thing in the morning, one mid afternoon and one before bed. He still eats all 3 meals, a day sleeps through the night so I don't see it as a problem!

My 9 month old only has 600ml a day Grin

Oldest DC didn't like milk so only had dairy in food by that age, middle one probably had about 300ml plus some yoghurt or cheese.
