Hi girls
Just looking for advice re. Baby eating abroad. We're only going to lanzarote but just wondered if its worth taking a fortnight a worth of pouches with us? Is the bottled water ok for a baby too?
Thanks x

Well, bottled water can be ok for babies, but you have to look for ones that have a baby bottle symbol on the label (I think it's a baby bottle, might be a picture of a baby). Otherwise the mineral content is too high and could be a problem.

As regards food, taking a fortnight's worth of pouches seems a little unnecessary! What does she normally eat? I might take a couple of back up options, but there will be food available there in the supermarkets.

We went to Majorca when DD was 7 months old. I took a box of baby porridge (the one you just add hot water too) and a couple of pouches. The shops sell jars of baby food some even brands you'll recognise and other than that I just picked bits and bobs from the hotel buffet, fresh fruit, cooked vegetables yoghurt ect. I found she wasn't that fussed about solids to be honest. Might have been the heat. I used bottled water to make up formula and for drinking water. I couldn't find any with a picture of a baby/babies bottle but the NHS has online guidelines of safe mineral content so I printed that off and checked when we got there.HTH Smile

We took dd to Sri Lanka when she was 9mo. It was fine. We'd did BLW and she hated jars/pouches so just asked for some steamed veg and cut off a chunk if whatever we had and gave it to her. She loved it!

I was still bfing then and I think we have her bottled water in a sippy tho struggling to remember and it was only just over a year ago

We took dd to sicily when she was 8 months. I panicked also and click and collected LOTS of jars/powdered milk and ready made milk at the airport which was ok as we were staying at my families house. But they did sell jars out there but strange ingredients. They were all purely veg or pure meat (one being horse) which I did not buy.
I also boiled (in a pan) bottles water with low sodium content and did it that way.
Bringing a child on holiday will always be hassle no matter what.
