Hello all. Right my lo will be 1 in 2 weeks, and he still will not tolerate lumps, for breakfast he will only eat 4month+ baby porridge, he won't eat weetabix, even if I blend the dry biscuit before adding milk, won't eat ready break super smooth as it's not compleatly smooth. I also give him toast at breakfast but he just sucks it, bites bits off and spits it out. He won't even eat 7month+ jars. Won't eat things I cook as I can't seem to get them as smooth as the 4month+ jars. Won't eat things like pasta and mashed potato as it has a thick consistency, just gags and spits it out.
He quite happily chews and sucks on finger foods but won't swallow anything.
I have friends with babies 2 and 3 months younger than my lo and they eat sandwiches when we all go out together.
Anyone have any experience with this sort of issue? Any advice would be much appreciated

I remember when ds was that age and he would not have lumps. I was told to force feed him or he would never chew etc etc. I never did force feed him. I mean really who would. I tried everything and one day gave up and gave him purée and he wolfed it down he was so hungry. Not long after somebody have him a bacon sandwich and he ate it perfectly. I can't remember but think he was over 1. Have you tried Ella's kitchen pouches 7 month ones? They arnt to lumpy, more textured. I know someone mentioned on her to me when I was wittling about dd an upper lip tie or somthing or even a missed tongue tie. I think it was jiltedjohnsjulie who toldd me.
By the way ds at 3.4 still won't eat rice pudding. I guess you just keep persevering. I share your pain.

Has he ever been checked for tongue tie? My DS was very much like this and he had tt and upper lip tie...

Just persevere with the finger foods and the purees but don't bother with the inbetween lumpy stuff.

Mine finally decided to wean herself on stolen McD's chips Confused then progressed to swallowing pasta whole without chewing!
