Please share your routines for your 7 month old babies(7 Posts)
My dd is a week off being 7 months and ebf, she has three small meals a day. I really don't know if what I'm doing is right. She is my 2nd but with dd1 she was bottle fed from six months so I found it much easier to establish a routine. Dd2 will not take a bottle so I guess I have to make do with bf her. I just don't know what I should b feeding her and how many breastfeed she should have a day. I hate not being able to see how much she is getting. Constantly worried she isn't having enough milk. Thank you
DS is just 7 months. Here is a typical day:
6.30 BF for 30 to 40 mins
9.00 breakfast meal, usually fruit or porridge
11.30 BF for 20 mins, sometimes longer
13.30 BF again, usually a sleep in the middle of this so this one lasts for ages
16.00 BF but not for long
17.00 meal, usually veg/meal puréed and then fruit or yoghurt
18.30 BF for 30 mins then to bed
Is it worth talking to a Health Visitor at your nearest children's centre or GP, they could weigh her to see if she's gaining weight at a reasonable pace. HTH.
DD is just over 7 months and have given rough times as a guide:
630am wake and breast feed
8am breakfast eg banana muffin from BLW cookbook or fruit or potato scone
1130am breast feed
12pm lunch eg multi veg muffin or some pasta followed by fruit and yogurt
4pm breast feed
430/5pm tea - again whatever we're having followed by fruit and yogurt
645pm bottle formula
Our DD is just 7 months and also hates bottles but we are persevering, replacing one daytime feed at a time starting with lunchtime as I'm returning to work in 6 weeks...
6.30 wake and bf usually under 10m
7.30 breakfast (porridge fingers from the blw cookbook, toast, fruit, live yog)
9-10.30 nap (up to 1.5h)
11am bf usually 10-20m
Occassionally naps again 11.30-12.30 if not slept much in morning
12.30-1pm lunch (veg, cheese, meat, whatever's going)
2pm bottle of formula
3.30 nap (up to 45m)
5pm tea (similar foods to lunch)
7pm bed (bf to sleep)
11pm dream feed
up to 2 additional night wakings to feed (aargh)
We are looking to get DD to STTN - any advice?
My DTs are still bf too.
I don't bother with breakfast at the moment!
8.30 - nap
10 - BF
10.45/11 - 'lunch' - veg, bread, fruit, other bits and pieces, I ams still introducing them to flavours so this is rarely a meal as such, more a collection of bits and bobs from the fridge
1pm - BF to sleep, nap for up to 2 hours
4pm - BF
4.45pm - dinner - pasta, risotto, shepherds pie etc
6.30 - bath/BF/bed
2/3 wake ups over night
Glitterspy we got DS to STTN by stopping the feed as he started to fall asleep so he had to self settle. A month on and he can be wide awake when I put him in the cot and in five mins he's asleep from 7pm to 6.30am. He has no naps during the day though, unless he decides to fall asleep when being cuddled so if you have any tips for daytime sleep please let me know
-Formula offered around 7:00/7:30am (6oz)
-Breakfast around 10:00 after his first nap - usually porridge and/or fruit. I offer him a small bottle after breakfast....he takes between 0-4 ounces.
-Formula offered around 2:00, directly followed by mid-day meal....usually a veg and a fruit
-Formula offered around 5:00, directly followed by dinner - this time a protein and a veg.
-2-4oz of additional Formula offered right before bed, between 6:30pm-7:00pm, which he may or may not eat depending on how well food has gone.
-Dream-feed before we go to bed between 11-midnight, though he usually wakes up on his own TBH.
-He wakes again to eat between 3-4am and is offered 4oz.
