bottle to which cup for milk?

I'm sure this has been asked before but my DD is 9 months and drinks morning and evening milk from an avent bottle. She is happy to drink water out of a variety of little sippy cups during the day. I'm keen to start getting her out of the bottle habit and onto a cup for her milk too, but if I offer it in a cup at those two times she goes mad, won't even attempt.
I can only imagine that she'll get more attached so I'm keen to crack it; any success stories on which cup your babies accepted milk from?

You say she won't drink milk from a cup at 'those two times' which I assume is morning and night? Have you tried offing milk in a cup at just a random time during the day instead? Just a thought.

My DD never took a bottle and wouldn't drink out of any type of cup until 13 months so I feel your pain. Maybe a cup with a straw as your DD will still have to suck? It's probably the sucking that she likes about the bottle. Iykwim?

Thanks monsters - I'll certainly give it a try, it could work. She just takes one look at whatever I'm offering milk in that isn't a bottle and goes a bit mental! I'll try offering milk in it earlier in the day first so she associates...

We used avent with our DD. You can still use the same bottles but buy some spouts (they do a softer one and another for older children) and also handles.
I read a tip which said never to let a child feed herself via a bottle. BUT, if they want to be independent they can have the bottle with a spout and a handle (so just like a sippy cup). She took to it brilliantly.....BUT now she's 3 (almost 4) and still has morning and night time milk from bottle with spout and we didn't force the issue and move onto a cup. But reckon she'll give it up when she's ready....

DS never really liked sippy cups at the start for anything, but he did like the Doidy, poss because he could see the contents. That said, it was messy at times as it is open so I learnt to only fill it a little bit at a time...

The very best sippy cup I ever bought (I've tried a lot!) is the simple tommee tippee one with the flip down spout.

It's sort of free-flow. Basically there's no valve so baby doesnt need to do much sucking. But it's also not got an air hole (just two in the spout) so it slows down the flow.

Plus it's the only cup that's been truly leak proof!!

Babycup is our favourite. NCT Shop sell it and it's a very cute little thing. My little ones love it (I have a cupboard full of redundant cups. Have tried a lot!!).
