Weaning

Possibly a silly question, but can a baby have too much calcium?

DS is almost 8 months, and is in the swing of things with weaning. He can eat a couple of cheese triangles, and yoghurts per day, and happily have more. This is in addition to his bottles as well. Can babies have too much calcium?

Not sure on that one. Have you checked how much salt he's having too? Cheese can be high in salt Smile

Here is the amount of calcium they need each day Smile

They can't have too much calcium, but I'd only give one cheese triangle and yogurt a day else they are displacing other foods he could be eating. And many of the 'baby' yogs are very sweet

Agree that if he's having that twice a day you might want to add a bit of variety. Have a look here. Cheese straws sound like his kind of thing and there is always fruit Smile
