Savoury snack ideas

Just looking for ideas for savoury snacks for my 8.5 month old. My dentist said it's best to give fruit at mealtimes, so I could do with ideas for savoury snacks. Yesterday she had a few slices of avocado, and today she had a small piece of cheese. She's not too good with rice crackers yet, she gums them, but not much gets swallowed! Any ideas appreciated.

Quite tricky IME as everything is either sugary or salty!

Crumpets, muffins, toast/cheese on toast, veg sticks, breadsticks with philly to dip

Thanks, some good suggestions, I think she'd love crumpets! As you say, the salt thing is tricky too! Although unless she has sandwiches, she doesn't have any other salt, so I suppose a little in a snack wouldn't be the end of the world.

Mine loved cheese straws. He about other vegetables like cucumber and carrot with hummus?

Have you seen the snack recipes here? There are some good recipes on mn too. How about baby frittata?

Thanks for the ideas, like the idea of savoury muffins! Thanks for the links Julie, some good ideas there. Cheese straws sound good too. I presume some of these things could be frozen then defrosted as needed? She likes houmous, she had a houmous & grated carrot sandwich the other day for lunch.

Yeah most of it can be frozen but the cheese straws will keep for a bit in an airtight tin. Never got to freeze ours as the DC scoffed them too quickly Smile
