Is my baby eating too much?

Hi everyone. I'm in the process of weaning with my daughter. She is just under 6 months old and has been having solids since 17 weeks and eating well, but I'm a little concerned that she's eating too much. I am only basing this on a friends daughter who is 4 days younger and has been eating solids for about the same length of time. My LO is currently having 2 meals of solids a day plus 3 9oz bottles of hungry baby formula. The 2 meals of solids she's having is either a whole small jar of puree, or if I make a porridge or powdered cauliflower cheese, it's made with 10 heaped baby spoonfuls of the powder, plus whatever water it needs. Is this too much? She's currently just above 75th percentile for weight and was also 75th for height too so she is tall for her age, but I'm really concerned that with the amount she's eating that she may end up an obese baby! Any advice greatly appreciated :)

Let her start to feed herself a bit (she can use her hands) and go slower. Also avoid the temptation to finish things.
She sounds fine but te above sets up good habits and lets baby learn when to stop when full.

Hi Iggly, thanks for the advice. She is generally pretty good at letting me know when she has had enough of a bottle feed, but she actually usually cries for more after her solid feeds. Do you think I should try to cut back a little on the bottles too?

Don't cut back on the milk - it's her main source of nutrition and calories, and will be until she is one.

When LO was 6 months, he was also on a similar diet. I always fed him most, if not all of his milk first before offering solids.

No not yet. I'd cut back when she's older, say around 9 months.

If she cries for more maybe give her finger food to play with?

At the moment my LO is alternating between milk and solids at each feed, so she has a bottle first thing, then porridge mid morning, bottle at around 3, a jar or homemade puree and a petit filous and dinner time, then bottle before bed. My HV has said as long as she is getting at least 20oz/1 pint of milk per day then she's well on track. Do I need to be worried that she's having a lot more than that anyway, plus solids? Confused
