Hi there
My boy is 26 weeks, we have just stared BLW, but he is having problems with pooing. He is passing large hard painfull poos.He has been exclusivly breastfed up till now and is still having the same amount of boob as he ever was, he has been teething so i am wondering if that has something to do with it.I dont think its anything to do with the food as he hardly actully gets any in his mouth,
Should I give him some prune juice or something, what about water any ideas gratfully recived xx

A bit of fresh oj diluted with water should help. You can buy lactulose too but in my experience it can cause wind.

Keep away from any foods that are going to bung him up even more until he starts pooping again.

I think constipation is quite normal during weaning Smile

DD was constipated a few weeks ago, I started a thread just like you to ask for advice. Gently massage the tummy, peddle the legs like on a bike and try and get them to drink some water. She also bounces A LOT! Took a couple of days but since then we've had no problems. Quick, touch wood!

Thanks he had a poo over night that he seemed to pass quite easily, he sucked on a mango so maybe he got some of the juice down him, was a bit worried yesterday as i could see a poo but he sucked it back in as it was hurting him.
Hopefully he will be ok now cant stand the poo tramua xx

Sounds like the mango did the trick. I'd avoid whole meal foods, bread, eggs and bananas for a couple of days and try him with some high water foods like melon, jelly, broccoli, cauliflower and soup Smile

Oh and I gave mine a sippy cup with water with each meal, simply because we all have a glass of water with our meals.
