Are chickpeas a chocking hazard?

I think I've got the makings of some kind of chickpea, sweet potato, spinach curry for dinner tonight, but I'm thinking that chickpeas might be a chocking hazard? DD is 11 months and is blw so is good at chewing but chickpeas just seem to be the perfect windpipe diameter.

Looking for reassurance. Is this safe? Thanks.

Mash it slightly with a fork to break up the chickpeas?

Hi WildRumpus. I think I might do that just to be safe. She's so messy at eating that mashed chickpeas aren't going to add to it much! Grin
