My 4 1/2 month old is EBF and for the past 3 days had been really unsettled and feeding a lot and getting agitated at the breast ! I know more feedi f means my supply will go up but she jus seems so hungry :( if I'm eating or drinking she is v interested in what I've got and grabs at it ? Is this a sign or should we wait?

And if we do give food will my supply dwindle ? Gosh this is hard :(

She's growing a lot and needs a lot of very calorie dense foods. Unfortunately weaning won't really help with that, the food that you can give her is both less calorie dense than your breast milk, and will be poorly digested initially.

Part of weaning is getting the babies gut which has just been digesting milk filled up with all the bacteria humans need to help them digest their food, until that happens not so many calories get through.

So I'd say just fight through with lots of feeds - it will pass soon.

Thanks Fred Fred I don't want to wean yet as Im not ready I love breastfeeding , but I hate seeing her miserable and also it's making me so tired , as you know in the only one who can feed her and i feel like my bum Is glued to the sofa like when I first brought her home. She is a big Girly too she is in size 9-12 already Shock so Im jumping the fun thinking she needs food. But I will persevere ..... Thank you
