Hm, skin rash. Any food allergies present like this?

I've just started weaning 6mo DS using BLW so he's basically getting what we're getting. So far, avocado on toast, cheese omelette, cheesy rice and veg bake and courgette and mushroom quiche have been the main 'compound foods' he's messed about with and thrown at the dogs eaten. The rest has been fruit or boiled/steamed veg. He's come out in a rash in areas which makes me reasonably certain it's the oil I use in baby massage, but just in case it's an allergic reaction to one of the minuscule bits of food he's swallowed, does anyone know of a food allergy that might present as a skin rash?

My DD gets terrible eczema if I eat eggs (she's Ebf) so it could be that? Have you kept a diary of the food eaten and the reaction?

DS is EBF and has never had any problems with anything I've eaten so far. I haven't been keeping a diary but it did occur to me with this that I should be consciously taking note of what he's eating a bit more.

I'll keep an eye in case eggs are a potential culprit. Thanks.

Is it itchy? Nhs direct told me food allergies cause itchy rashes. Apparently babies are quite prone to rashes caused by viruses - especially after a cold or fever. So that's another potential cause.
Hope that helps - well actually I hope the rash just goes away soon, never to return, but you know what I mean...

Doesn't seem to be itchy. He has had the longest lasting cold in the world ever, though. Or man flu. Maybe it's man flu rash. grin
