Weaning

wasting so much food

This is probably all part and parcel of weaning, but I seem to be wasting so much food at the moment. DD is nearly 7 months and we've just got to three meals a day, but it's really hard to predict what she'll eat. It could be as little as two spoonfuls or ten. I feel like I throw away more than she eats at the moment, which feels a bit wasteful. I guess it's not the biggest problem in the world, but any tips to keep the waste down?!

DS1 (2) can be a bit hit or miss with his meals too, I tend to always serve him up half of what I think he'll eat, and keep the rest for the next day. If he does eat it all, he just gets the 2nd portion then instead :)

Yes, that's sensible! I keep thinking she's going to eat more and so don't reduce the size of the portions I prepare. But having half as back up makes much more sense and I guess you don't have the heating/re-heating issues that I keep running into!
