Hello, I'm on baby number 2, and a bit confused about when to wean. With my first, she strongly indicated at about 5 months she was ready for something extra. She could sit up by then, and was quite good at grabbing, and grabbed some food ad in it went.
Number 2 (4.5 months), is quite different from my first, he is proving to be much more difficult to get on the bottle (I need to get him on there for medical tests I need and BF makes the results inconclusive) - he is not sitting up yet and although he can grab etc, he is not very coordinated.
None of this really worries me, as I'm kind of go with the flow and do not own any books to refer to. But question is when should I start offering him solids?
A friend of mine, who starts on the day they turn 4 months and has them on 3 meals a day by 5 months keeps having a pop at me not doing it, and laughs at me for avoiding it - she has 3 kids. All of her children are quite chunky as it happens, don't know if this has anything to do with the early feeding schedule. Her superior attitude doesn't upset me, I just think she's quite rude:)
My boy will watch us eat and get very excited, he has tried a little bit of yogurt and loved it, but hates baby rice. What else could I give him? Any ideas?
Are you supposed to wait till they can sit up? I'm sure I heard that somewhere - I know I've done it before, but 2 years ago seems so long ago, and my DD made it so easy for me:)
Any advice really appreciated
