Hi everyone,

Just wondering if u give your 9 mo old any snacks during the day? Here's a typical days menu:
730am 8 oz bott
B: 1x weetabix or hipp porridge with juice
L: half a jar of stage 2 and a yoghurt with fruit..sometimes will have sandwich too
230pm: 8oz bott
5pm: shepherds pie or something similar
7pm: 8oz bott
Im not sure hes getting enough food and would be interested to hear what other people give their little ones??

you could try a snack between breakfast and lunch.

Agree with Seona that he could probably do with a snack around 10 ish too. Fruit is a good one and there's lots to choose from, there's dried fruit like raisin or dried apricots, baby breadsticks and hummus or cream cheese, cheese straws etc. If you are still stuck for ideas there are some recipes here and here or see if your local library has got this book and there is a thread here.

My 8mo has breakfast & bottle at 7am-730am, and lunch at 12pm. I give her a snack at 10am (something like chopped prunes, chopped apricot, raisins, toast, crumpet, rice cake with topping, grapes, cheese, biscuit).

I offer a morning and an afternoon snack, we have a later dinner. He doesn't always want it, but I always offer. It might be a bit of fruit/dried fruit, an oaty bar, a biscuit, some Goodies corn puff things, plain popcorn, a couple of rice cakes, cheese and crackers, a fruit squeezy or a bit of toast/bread. I often give him a choice of a couple of things so he can choose what he fancies. He's 15 months but we have been doing this since at least 7 months.

I use the milk as snacks in between the food so:
breakfast
mid-morning milk
lunch
mid-afternoon milk
tea
milk before bed
sometimes he has a snack with the milks such as a Heinz Biscotti or a few pieces of banana etc
I think they need something every couple of hours because of all the energy they are using up and they only have small tummies, particularly once they start moving about more. Baby M will also wake up for a couple of milk feeds during a twelve hour sleep at night.
