Eating the bib??.....

Hi all
I started weaning my baby at 4 months. She's now nearly 6 months. The trouble I have is with bibs. Since she started shoving everything into her mouth at 4 months, feeding is a nightmare as she constantly puts the bib into her mouth making feeding a long drawn out process. Does anyone else have this problem or have any ideas to help? Is there a bib on the market that stops this?

Mealtime at the moment is one big messy debacle! Thanks!

Are you using a highchair? I'm using the long sleeve bibs from ikea. they are very long. So I tuck it under the tray of the highchair. Since her hands are on the tray, she couldn't get to the bib. Grin

Are you offering her anything else to keep her hands busy (assuming you're doing traditional weaning?) like some veg or a breadstick? If she's got something she can put in her mouth, she might not bother eating the bib Grin

Put a slice of bread and butter in one hand and a lump of cheese in the other, she'll soon forget about the bib!

The other option is to strip her at mealtimes and not bother with the bib.

John Lewis do a really good coverall bib she won't be able to eat. My son eats the pelican bib style ones.
