Ideas for spreads?

Anyone got any ideas for spreads to put on toast for 8 month-old? She loves bread in all forms so was trying to think of something other than butter to put on it. Obviously jam (sugar), marmite (salt) and peanut butter (nuts) are all out...anyone had any success finding something baby-friendly?

Avocado?
Hoummous?
Mushed up egg?

If you just do thin spreads, I'm sure jam and marmite are fine. You can get diabetic/low sugar jam if you'd prefer. Not sure why peanut butter is out?

Oh dear, mine had marmite and peanut butter from 6 months onwards.

Anything squishable is ok really. Soft cheese if not dairy allergic.

I made some fruit and veg purees thicker and used them on toast. DDs also loved banana on toast.

Some great ideas here, thanks everyone. And sorry, didn't mean to criticise anyone's choices, I probably err on the side of paranoia a bit...

Tuna, blitz it with yoghurt and a squeeze of lemon juice. It's a nice adult pate to be fair, never mind for babies! DD likes cheese on toast as well, particularly with some tomato puree spread on the bread.

Also you can use the tiniest scraping of marmite I reckon. And peanut butter is fine unless there is an increased risk of allergy - eg member of the family is allergic...

I use:

Unsalted butter or Peanut butter (thinly spread)
Avocado
Philadelphia
Banana
If I'm being lazy, some Ella's kitchen purée
Hummus
Soup
Yoghurt
And have you tried eggy bread?

Cashewnut butter (Sainsbury's have it) - nice alternative to peanut butter (and has no salt)
Chicken spread (or any of those other meat/fish spreads in the little glass jars?)- tried that just now and it seems to have gone down ok.
Cream cheese
DD surprisingly will have tuna mayo on bread without it being blitzed

(I should mention that this is pretty much her complete diet right now!)

The BLW cookbook also suggests hummus, mashed banana, sardines, fish pate, tomatoes, bread spread, baked beans...

from the health food shop I go some hazelnut butter and almond butter and also pear and apricot spread and sugarfree jam! Also LO loves soft cheese and mashed avocado.

My DS likes the salmon spread from the BLW cookbook - basically just tinned salmon mixed with ricotta, a squeeze of lemon juice and black pepper if you like. It's yummy!

I sometimes use it as a sandwich filler with grated cucumber (he's 11 months now but still no teeth!).
