Hi all. I know the answer to this - it just takes time, letting the LOs find their own pace etc - but I need some reassurance...
We started BLW with our DD as she turned 6 months, last weekend. The first few days went really well, she chewed and sucked on carrots, cucumber, apple, broccoli, carrot puffs, rice cakes, and fed herself fromage frais with a spoon. Of course she didn't actually consume much but she really did some good exploring. And there was some evidence of actual consumption in her nappies!!
However in the last few days she's barely shown an interest at all, hardly even put anything in her mouth, just fiddled a little bit with some food.
I've been trying to give her various things about an hour after BF, a good hour or so before her naptime, and have been offering her a variety of things, with 2 or 3 pieces of food at a time.
This is normal, isn't it? There will be days she's interested and days less so, right?
I guess I'm just suffering a bit of a crisis of confidence as her amazing achievements of the first few seem to have fallen off, and as I watch friends spoon loads of purees into their LOs mouths...
