Not really, sorry! Dentists advice to us was nothing but milk or water till they're 5.

Is she still breastfed?

millie0403 Mon 15-Aug-11 12:37:27

no she is bottle feed, as couldn't breast feed due to medical problems, really im really stuck on what to do

So she won't take water from the bottle at all?

How often is she having milk?

I would just keep offering water with meals, she will get used to it in time.

well she tends to just bite the teat as soon as she realises its water, she has 70z bottles about 5 times a day plus weaning

Have you tried a sippy cup? My DD wouldn't drink water from a bottle, I suppose they expect it to be milk, but she will take a few mouthfuls from a Tommee Tippee cup.

It takes most babies quite a while to get used to drinking water (I agree that a free-flow cup with a spout, ie tommee tippee beaker, is the way to go). Just keep offering it and let her have a play with the cup. It's very easy to worry about it and fall into the baby juice trap but if you keep

I'd just keep offering water in a lidded cup along with meals and she will eventually drink from it. I used the tommee tippee first cup with the flip up lid for both my kids.
