heeeellllppppp! No matter how much I read, I feel clueless about how to wean. My DD has been enjoying ella's kitchen pouches and cereal but I don't know how regularly to gve them to her? Should she be having three meals a day? Can I replace one of her breast feeds? I currently breast feed her at 7, 10, 1, 4 and 7 and tbh the feeding is really taking it out of me physically... I feel dizzy and exhausted all the time. Does anyone have a no nonsense schedule the can give me (please don't say it's up to me etc... I've lost the courage of my own convictions and have no confidence with this stage!)

Thank you!

I wouldnt want to suggest too much without knowing her age. I would guess she is 6 months or slightly under?
I would breastfeed at 7, then give her porridge and fruit at 9ish to replace the 10am breastfeed. I would then give lunch at 12pm, breastfeed at 1pm, then tea after the 4pm breastfeed. Then feed as normal before her bedtime. Once you feel that the meals are established over a period of a few months replace a breastfeed with a snack instead, such as a banana, or raisins. By the time she is 12 months she would have probably droppped to 2 feeds a day, one morning, one evening. My 2 year year old has just dropped her morning milk and now just has a cup of milk before bed. The Annable Karmel book gives very good feeding schedules and lovely recipe ideas.HTH.

Thanks poppy. She is 6 months old and big for her age. I suppose I don't know what the DAY is going to look like. She currently naps between 9 and 10 and between 11.30 and 1 so I'm not sure where I'm going to fit every thing in. What did your whole day look like when your little one was 6 months? Could you let me know what you dd with naps, breastfeeding and weaning? Thank you so much in advance!

I wouldn't expect her to to be dropping milk feeds just yet, sorry.

I do remember that stage when you feel like you are constantly feeding either milk or solids, but by about 8 months I'd expect her to be dropping milk feeds.

Keep to your original bfing times, then add in solids at about 8 am, 1 pm and 5 pm, to fit in around nap times.

Gradually she'll take more solids and less milk, but at 6 months, the solids are very much an addition to milk, not a replacement.

Perhaps get your iron levels checked if you're feeling lightheaded and dizzy.

Thank you! You've all been so helpful. Awaiting blood test results re iron.
