weaning and sickness

I started weaning my 7 month old at 5 months and so far he's doing really well and there isn't much he won't try. The problem is he keeps being sick about an hour or so after his food, it doesn't seem to matter what he has he's just always sick!
He has milk feeds as snack times and water to drink with food, his weight gain is spot on so I don't think he's being overfed..Help?!

My ds had the same problem, he vomited loads one day after some mashed banana then again the next day I called the GP who basically told me that their little tummies just don't digest food as quickly as we think and they can basically be so full that they vomit (even if your only giving small amounts like I was)

He suggested breaking up his milk feeds so giving one or two oz then letting that settle for a few mins then the next two oz and so on. I was also told just to feed sweet potato and squash nothing else for a few days and steer clear of bananas - apparently they often make babies sick !

Great thankyou!

I think I may be giving too much milk as I'm new to bottle feeds. Was going to drop a bottle as he has 4, 5oz bottles through the day plus his meals, he's probably just full up as you said!

4 x 5oz feeds sounds perfect for his age as a minimum of 20oz is recommended up to 1 year.
