Weaning

11.5 months will not drink anything - help!

We're beginning the process of weaning DS 11.5 months off breastmilk; he's still on about 6 feeds a day, and as phase 1 we're trying to cut out all feeds during working hours.

He will take breastmilk or formula from a bottle happily, but he WILL NOT drink water or any other liquid, either from a bottle, a sippy cup (Vital Baby) or a normal cup. He spits it out all down his front when we try.

Please help - how can we get him to drink water etc? I don't want him to get dehydrated, but I'm also working FT and sick to death of the rigmarole of expressing/feeding during the day. I want to cut back to morning and night only for milk feeds.

ds2 would only bf at 10 months when I went back to work. No water, milk, nada from cup or bottle.
He had 2 bf a day only and was fine.
I guess there was a lot of milk is his porridge and water in his fruit...
Eventually he embraced the idea of a cup.
