What did your 7-10 month old DC eat yesterday?

I am struggling with Stage 2 and producing 3 meals per day I suspect I'm over complicating things and getting myself in a right muddle. I have just spent the last hour trying to cook an Annabel Karmel cod recipe which was disgusting and ended up in the bin and not for the first time.

I don't know why I thought I would suddenly be able to cook just because its baby food. I am hoping seeing others daily menu will help me see how I should go forward. BLW,puree fans and jars I'm interested in them all. Thanks!

ds aged 10.5 months ate yesterday:
Breakafast:
Handful of dry cereal and a rice cake with peanut butter on it

Snack:
Avocado slice, apple slice, oatmeal and rye cracker that was sucked and given to the dog before I noticed.

Lunch: some Orzo (small, rice-shaped) pasta with a bit of bolognese (leftovers) and some bits of my salad, mostly thrown on the floor, then bits of broccoli (leftovers) sucked and chewed a bit. Half a banana, few spoons of my yoghurt.

Snack:
a strawberry, some breadsticks and cream cheese

Dinner:
slice of spinach and bacon quiche (ate all but the crust), bit of broccoli, some strawberry-in-reddy brek for pudding.

the amount of vegetable that goes in tends to vary. I just focus on offering a lot and figure some will go on.

Soon to be 9 MO - this is what she actually ate, as opposed to what was offered or left on her tray or on the floor:
Breakfast - 4 desert spoons of porridge with mixed dried fruit (made with semi skimmed milk and a little extra rich jersey cream added), 1 slice of Polish rye bread toast with hazelnut butter, 4 teaspoons of yogurt and a dried apricot
Snack - a whole banana and 6 teaspoons of yogurt
Lunch - half a thin slice of roast beef, 2 cherry tomatoes, 2 water biscuits spread with cream cheese, half a pear
Snack - half a mango and 4 teaspoons of yogurt
Tea - roast chicken (about 3 fingers worth), piece of brocolli, piece of roast potato, slice of roast red onion and a slice of the fleshy bit (not the skin) of an aubergine, small piece of expensive cave-aged Gruyere cheese (only the best!!!).
I think she eats a lot! Sometimes she eats nearly as much as I do at breakfast/snacks/lunch - it's only her tea that is very small compared to ours!

yeah - I didn't add that on some days/meals/moments most of the food goes onto the floor and into the dog, and on others he seems to eat an enormous amount. I have noticed that it tends to even out though - yesterday he barely ate at lunch or breakfast, just chucked stuff, and he ate masses for his dinner. I try not to worry about it (don't always manage it, mind) because he really does seem to put it in when he's hungry, and I know he won't starve. Plus he BFs so he won't ever keel over, I suppose.

Mine eats tiny portions as well. He tends to give up about 4 mouthfuls in and would happily go off and play rather than eat. I haven't introduced any snacks yet cos they would be ignored.

DD 7 months:

1 weetabix with apple and pear puree (ate about 2/3 weetabix I think), 1 slice of toast (ate about half), about 1/4 of an orange.

Tomato sauce with chick peas (homemade sauce left over from pizza topping), small piece of homemade pizza (sucked and chucked!), 1 hipp organic fruit pot.

Half a jar of sunday roast dinner, 3 rice cakes with dairylea (cheese sucked off, rice cakes left) fromage frais.

4 bottle of milk so far (7oz) and one to go at bedtime.

I think she eats too much (or rather has too much milk) but not sure what to do about it!

DD (7.5 months but 5 months adjusted age, not sure if that's relevant any more tbh) is on purees but they're getting really v lumpy now. More like lumpy mash. She had:

Breakfast: Porridge with a mashed up strawberry in it

Lunch: mashed sweet potato, chopped up pasta, some green lentils, pureed courgette, chopped up cheddar cheese - all mushed up together. For pud, some pureed pear.

Dinner: mashed spud, tuna from a can, cheddar cheese, a blob of Philadelphia, sweetcorn - mushed up together. For pud, some pureed apple.

I've been pureeing stuff and freezing it in an icecube tray, then transferring the frozen cubes into freezer bags. Then if I can't be arsed to cook anything, I can defrost a selection of cubes and dadaaaaaah! - a tasty meal a la today's lunch. She's having about 4 or 5 cubes worth for main, then a single fruit cube's worth for her pud.

Sometimes she has a rice cake for a snack, if I ever want a laugh at her learning to chew. Yesterday the nursery gave her a yoghurt for a snack and she loved it.

My 10 month old had:

breakfast - 1 weetabix, half a banana
lunch - half a bread roll with hummus, some of my apple and some raisins
snack - mini babybel cheese and rice cakes
dinner - spag bol and other half of the banana

I don't cook him special meals, he shares what we have. It's a mix of him feeding himself and me spooning some in.

Thanks for the replies. I must admit that it makes me feel better that there is so much variety and throwing on the floor! I need to chill! Its given me a few ideas. I don' t know if its teething or something but DD seems happier with finger food at the minute and I can't cook so I think thats the way to go.

DS is 7 months (but also 5 months corrected!)ate:-

Breakfast-1/2 weetabix with some fruit puree mixed in

Lunch-a Plum stage 2 pot(think it was beef, apple and Bean or something) and a fromage frais.

Dinner-sweet potato, carrot,Brocolli and courgette mashed up with loads of cheese,3 strawberries and some of my banana.

Theresahuppo-DS seems to like things mashed as well rather than actual lumps. Im going to borrow your mashed potato and tuna idea cause it sounds lovely...I don't do fish (yuck!) but Id like him too eat it so will give it a go!

Don't know if you ever need to use jars or anything but have found the plum ones and the Ellas Kitchen Stage 2 ones a really good consistency for him at the moment-they are not smooth but haven't got great huge lumps in it.
Im finding it really hard because although he is technically 7 months he is more like a 5 month old in terms of development and isn't really ready for chunky stuff yet.

Apologies for highjacking thread btw!

DD is 8 months.

Yesterday she ate:
Breakfast - porridge with blueberries
Lunch - one round of toast with philidelphia. Offered grapes but most chucked on floor
Tea - pasta with chicken and homemade sauce consisting of courgette, broccoli, tomato, red pepper and onion with mangetout and baby sweetcorn finger foods

Today she ate:
Breakfast - porridge with strawberries
Lunch - (we were out at Frankie and Benny's to put it in context!) Bits of garlic bread, omlette, one chip, a kiwi fruit, tiny spoons of icecream and cappucino froth and a baby biscuit. The offered satsuma was very much frowned upon.
Tea - fish, baby sweetcorn and a couple of chips

The tantrum thrown at lunchtime today when I did not give her any of my chocolate brownie was monumental - hence attempting to placate her with small amounts of icecream and cappucino froth!

Gosh they really are so different - yesterday my almost 8MO DD has

Breakfast: Nothing!

Lunch: Apples, Parsnip and Carrot puree

Dinner: Sweet potato with orange and milk

and 5 Breastfeeds

She really isn't big on food and somedays she only manages one meal :( I spoke to early years practioner though who said as long as I am offering food at every meal she will get it sooner or later. I think teething has put her off food big time.

Ah Zimm, I think my ds follows the same diet! 7.5mo.

Breakfast: porridge made with cream
Lunch: one chip, a bit of burger, bit of bun and a sliver of raw red onion
Dinner: carrot, broccoli and a smidgen of egg
About one zillion breastfeeds.

We are mainly blw but with some stuff on a spoon, eg porridge. He enjoys food but mostly he is still all about the milk. Oh, and the strawberries!

My DD 10 months had:

Breakfast: 1/2 weekabix with whole milk and 1/4 banana mashed in, plus a round of toast.

Lunch: One piece of bread with a homemade random chicken paste on (chicken, natural yoghurt, cucumber and tomato) followed by a small fromage frais.

Dinner: A Sunday roast.

Snacks: A few cheerios throughout the day.

Milk: One 5oz and one 7oz bottle.

Really worried at the moment about volume of food and milk, too much or too little, so much conflicting advice!!
